Most people ask if I can explain the RV electrical system in simple to understand terms. The electrical system in your RV can seem complex and confusing until you have a basic understanding of how it works. Your RV actually has three separate electrical systems. We are primarily concerned with the volt DC and volt AC coach systems. The majority of campgrounds you go to will provide you with an external volt electric source to plug into. Your RV has a heavy-duty power cord that is normally about 25 feet long. Depending on the type of RV you have, or purchase, it will either be a 30 Amp or 50 Amp system. When you plug into the proper campground electrical source it will supply power throughout your RV.
How To Fix A Noisy Refrigerator
That means if you’re replacing a dishwasher, you only need to break these connections from the old appliance and reattach them to the new one. Shut off power at the breaker panel and close the hot-water valve under the sink first, and be sure to unscrew the old unit from the underside of the counter before pulling it out. The existing electrical wiring is still good, but both plumbing lines should be replaced. Dishwashers come with drain hoses, but you’ll need to buy a supply pipe—preferably copper tubing, which TOH plumbing and heating expert Richard Trethewey uses instead of braided steel.
Copper lasts 60 to 80 years—longer than any dishwasher.

Freezers In-the-door ice and water dispensers have become common on refrigerators, especially in the bottom-freezer and side-by-side categories. In fact, depending on what size refrigerator you’re shopping for, you might have a hard time finding a model that doesn’t offer this feature. And it can be a nice convenience, especially if you entertain often or your household goes through a lot of water and ice.
But there are a few downsides to consider. With that, here are the pros and cons on in-the-door ice and water dispensers, based on Consumer Reports’ ongoing refrigerator tests. The Pros Added convenience. There’s nothing easier than pressing a lever and watching your glass fill with fresh ice whole or crushed, as you like it and chilled water. That convenience can help you and your family stay hydrated throughout the day.
Many manufacturers have made their dispensers even easier to use, for example, by making them taller so that you can fill pitchers and other oversize containers. Cleaner, better tasting water and ice. The water line on most dispensers runs through a built-in filter that should improve the taste of your water and also capture contaminants like lead and mercury. If you had been relying on bottled water, a refrigerator water dispenser could save you money and drastically reduce the amount of plastic garbage your home produces.
You’ll feel this a few ways, starting with the purchase price. Refrigerators with in-the-door ice and water dispensers typically cost a couple hundred dollars more than comparable models without the feature.

The ice maker was still making ice so I knew it was still receiving water. I spent several hours reading forums and testing various theories. I eventually determined that the water line inside the door was frozen. You see, the water line comes in from the wall to under the refrigerator and splits. One line goes up to the ice maker. Ultimately the insulation inside the door quits insulating the water line and it freezes near dispenser control panel.
